The Super Strike little neck popper is my go to popper on the beaches. It casts a mile, it cuts through the wind very nicely and you can also swim it, retrieving it like a plug, because it has a nice wiggle on a straight retrieve. I've done the straight retrieve on very choppy conditions when popping it produces a lot of missed hits. I like the 2 3/4oz one that comes with a bucktail siwash hook on the back. Perfect weight.

If your fishing strickly quiet north shore waters I would buy 4 SS littlenecks 4” black eye 1.5 oz.
2 Blurple  with a black dressed siwash

2 White with pink side and white belly with white dressed siwash.
I personally would for go the bottles darters and needles for north shore work so long as I can take along some minnow swimmers. I like vmc 4x trebles on the belly swivel in size 1/0 and the siwash in size 4/0 on the rear.

No. The only way you could go wrong is if you buy a heavy one and it overpowers your rod.  For the north shore I would probably get a 1.5 ounce little neck and a 2 & 3/8 sinking little neck popper. For the other two get a saltwater spook and a light bucktail.
