So how’s the pet rock doing?

It's an historical artifact, that was stolen.

A use to be great spot for better than average sized fluke south east of cape may called the old grounds primary structure was ballast stone dropped from the ships coming into the Delaware bay…. A lot of double digit fish came from that place over the years.

Its actually river rock there. But the rumor of it being ballast is a common misconception.

Do you do any geocache hunting while hunting the glass floats? My kids have gotten into it and it’s a good way to explore new places.

There's also the simpler version call "Letterboxing".

Instead of using  GPS, you go to their website, find the area you want to look in, choose the difficulty level (because it can involve a lot of walking) and they give you clues as the directions.

I did  this years ago with my sister and nieces and nephews.

The most notable place was a pet cemetery in Dedham/ W Roxbury. The clues led you thru the plots, and one of them was Lizzy Borden's pet...the ACTUAL Lizzy Borden.

Another was in the park behind the BassPro Shop in Foxborough.

It was a great way to get the kids (and a few adults) out for some exercise and fresh air.
