I was wondering about the one in the top pic myself.

I believe the ones in the bottom pic are juvenile tautog...but not 100%.

Top pic is a cunner, aka choggies, bait stealer etc etc. The bottom pic shows a baby tautog.

For the past hour there has been more than 8-10 big togs gathering around. Some more medium sized ones and a tagged one. One striper swam through earlier and lots of smaller bait I can't make out that are not cunners....

One baby seabass also.

YES. Did you see the group of choggies following this thing?

I did not, too busy trying to figure out the screen capping thing.

I have also noticed a few tagged fish:

Not sure if that’s a tag or some type of growth on the choggie above.

This juvenile tautog has a tag.  Also notice the wound on the tail of the choggie above it.

This adult tautog has one too, but it’s hard to see because it’s on the other side of the fish.

I suspect this is a Black Sea Bass which also displays a tag. EDIT: Foxfai corrected me.  It’s a choggie, not a sea bass.

That's not a seabass, it's just a cunner.

I'm amazed at the color variations in the cunners.

Male & female?

Same with togs?

Ya, the all comes in different shape, size, colors, all same type of fish. Blackfish are more or less the same. But one thing you can tell is by their shape/fins, that doesn't change much.

The cunner come in a wide range of colors. I believe much of it has to do with the background colors of where they live. Some. Like the one in this pic, can get bright orange when they live among those bright orange sponges (not really sponges, can't recall real name).

Unfortunately, they don't keep their color in aquariums. I actually kept this one and in a month or so it was generic greenish brown.

I have seen really small baby tog that were also this bright color living among those orange sponge-like thingies.

LOL, they just took the camera out and cleaning it. I know where it is now. :)

EDIT:

Camera is back under water facing different spot. It's not focus enough to have a good video now... :(
