Fallfish

Forget to mention, caught a huge fallfish the other day.

I was fishing this large pool, at the convergence of two small rivers. The deeper part of the pool was on the opposite bank, where the current undercut the bank. Cast across the pool, dropped some line allowing my spinner to sink. Mended my line, and allowed it to dead drift through the pool. Soon as it went over the gravel bar, WHAM! Beautiful hit. Fish ran off a bit of line, but didn't jump, so I'm thinking it's not a bow. Probably a nice brown. Caught a couple glimpses of it's broad silver sides, and finally landed it.  A huge fallfish. Maybe 17" and 1.5lbs.  it drilled my tiny spinner, but was only lip hooked, and made an easy release.   I didn't know they got that big.

Jumbo minnow eh?

Yea, I guess.  I always knew they were around, but never knew they were considered a minnow.
