I must of missed it... why is the beach closed at the bullpen?

View from the Bullpen looking south towards the closure on Friday:

Mix of people driving on the wrong side of the markers at high tide and birds is what I was told.

Posted (edited)

I was out there this morning, Tuesday. #14 on, and 40 when I came off about 1pm.

One skate to show for my efforts. Threw peelers, mullet, cut, and whole, and fleas.

Bait would come back gone, or chewed on, but no real bites.

Beach is flat, with no holes or features like further south.

Do you guys think the beaches will be in better shape by September?

Depends on what storms we get this year.  We are due for a good one.

So...that sustained noreaster starting Mothers Day weekend didn't create any good structure off the beach?

It did but all south of what we have access to right now.  It definitely made the beach skinnier but made lots of holes and rips.

Yup, can't get to the area with structure, starting around km28 until the birds are gone.

They are doing some kind of work down by the border fence. I saw a big, 6 wheel,  military type truck, head south, and 3 white pickups right behind, go by me, and never come back.

Be interesting to see what they are up to when we can get back there.
