apart from the rotor and the spool is there any benefit with the new vsx2 vs vsx ???

From what l can see from the pictures it looks like they moved the ARBearing to the front of the reel mounted on the pinion as opposed to the main gear, now you could take the side cover off without the fear of reel lockup when reinstalling the cover, much like the VR reels and Zbass.

With the ARB upfront, it should be easier to service the pinion and spool shaft seals, once again like the VR reels.

Still alive,  my knob is so worn, have parts coming, its gold and i dont care.

 Love these reels.

I guess this thing is worth a fortune.

Have 2 150 reels , had one repaired, wore the gears out haha

There both 2 digit reels.

Im a south paw, and if this company makes a reel for me il buy one to have ,not that i need it.

This reel prolly has a million casts on it and monster fish.

I just put the knob in my pocket and took a pair of plyers and put that bolt back on and kept on fishing. I dont leave hot nights fishing.

Wish these was made in usa, but after i think atleast 20 years its still smooth as hell and i need this tool for what i do, nothing else  stands up

Despite what you say. I happen to like the new vsx solely for the new drag knob.

we all have to get over that reels are made in china now.  I got rid of my usa ones.  I like the new chinese ones.

Why don't you make a wooden knob? Feels good and holds warmth doing the winter every one like knobs.

Here is what l made for my VS100 / 150s.

Cool idea. I rebuilt mine, good as new

I have a complete handle knob assy

Just saving it.

Got extra parts for knob rebuild.

And found the parts in my vs parts box.

Is that a centaur pacific?

Yes, that was my Fathers reel, he bought it in 1950, l was 9 at that time and we would go pier fishing in Coney lsland.

There is only one bearing in the reel, still runs like a charm, same looking gears inside as VS reels, drag is so so the plastic handle was cracked and worn out so l made a paddle-type l might make a wood ball type down the line, l still use it on my 9ft rod, fun to take to the beach are amazed at the half bail. Simple reel to take apart on lock up on assembly. The reel is 72 years old almost as old as me.

On my 9ft custom steelhead rod that built.
