I have muck boots and a pair of field and stream knee high neoprene and rubber for wet areas and bow hunting.  The real game changer has been my new Irish Setter Elk Trackers for cold day stand sits.    1000 grams and Vortex bootie.  Warm and comfortable like slippers

Irish Setters are what I wear from shotgun season on. Dont think theyre elk trackers but theyre warm, lightweight, and comfortable. I do wear knee highs pheasant hunting and sometimes during bow season but they make such a limited impression on me I couldn't tell you what brand they are.    Will have to check.

I'll have mine on the rocks.

Wearing them right now.

I've got the box at home, can give you the model this afternoon. They're 4 or 5 years old though so it wouldn't surprise me if they're no longer available.

I remember in my 20's I used to buy red wing boots for work. That's when they were made in USA only.

We used to go to Townsend at a little store there and the guy was great.  This one time he told us you should look at these Irish setters because red wing is selling the name and they won't be available like this anymore. My buddy and I bought a pair each. $186 I remember and they were buy far the best boot I ever owned.  Lightweight and waterproof.  More of a boot for bird hunting but we wore them everywhere.  I had them resoled once before they had it.

I guess I need to do some research and look for a good lightweight boot for walking. My back can't handle those old bulky pack boots anymore.

For many years we made the pilgrimage to the Dunham outlet in Brattlebore Vt. with Carolina's a close second.  Made in China now.....

Almost all boots are made in China and Vietnam now.  I think the only American made boots I have are my 3. Pair of Danners

Sad but true, growing up in this little town we had three different shoe manufacturing mills.  American Athletic Shoe is still in business but their stock comes in containers from China and it is packaged here.  Vibram soles are still made in North Brookfied Mass.

I think it is easier to find them when they are still attached to deer, during the season :)

I don't know how many times I looked for that big 6 shed behind my house. It's not a big area, I'd see him with out antlers a still nothing. found and complete doe skeleton once behind the house, I have that skull but no sheds.  I've only found a couple in all my years searching, walking a ton of miles. and one I lucked out was while I was crossing a little stream.
