KG
I have an older Penn spinning reel, a 747. The body and spool show wear to the point where there is some bare metal exposed. I was going to repaint the body but hesitating on the spool because it is aluminum. While fishing, the reel doesn't get splashed regularly. Should I not worry about the wear and just fish or paint it? I am not a seasoned saltwater fisherman so I am not sure of the best pan of action. Thank you. Surf bomber
Is it possible to get a anodized spool for the reel?
CDubbs
I wouldn't worry about it, a little wear and missing paint is ok... just fish it... Unless you want it to look new and clean. Then open it up , disassemble and clean and degrease, and sand it up a bit. Then re- paint. sytheteacher and rkw
KG
I may look around for a spool but for now I think I will just fish the reel as it I appreciate your replies. rkw
cheech
Cover the wear area with clear nail polish. sytheteacher 1 Tis better to remain silent and thought the fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
