The top two are of the 44' Contender owned by Goose Hummocks Shop. They also have a 39'. That's over a million dollar boat originally.  There's 4 new Yammy 425's on the 44 this year.

The last is a stock photo of a 54' showing off the stepped hull.

It introduces air to the running surface to reduce friction and thus increase speed.  Really only comes into play over 50, some say 60 mph.

 

It also sets the trim of the boat, you will notice significantly reduced bow rise out of the hole.
