That's really interesting.  Very curious to how it does.

Weirdest thing I'm going to try is deadsticking a quartered hotdog for pike.

For real? Quartered lengthwise?

I dig it!  Make sure to use natural casing.  They'll probably hold the hook better than the Oscar Meyers.

Yes lengthwise.  Apparently pike love it.    If they don't I got lunch.

Never heard that!

Something raw & salted like pork or chicken would last longer wouldn’t it?

Were you one of the guys with homemade pork rinds? Those seem like a pike bait

Me either.  Guy on another forum I'm on, heard about it and tried them on a tip up.  Caught fish.  Bunch of other folks in the midwest said it's a great bait.   Something about the combo of salt and grease pike love.  Apparently, the cheapest meat dogs work the best. Talkin the .99cent a pack stuff.

I carve a paddle tail on the end of the hotdog then rig on a 1 oz swim bait 5/0 mustad hook.

Fish it slow across the bottom. Too fast and the paddle tail tears off. Drag it across the bottom and stop for 5-10 seconds each foot or two. When it starts moving again  is when it gets nailed.

Killer for Fluke and Weakfish.
