What a great day!! It was so refreshing and good feeling to see everyone, BSing, laughing, and eating. Put a gigantic check next to today in your life book of days that were awesome.

Hell yeah, I enjoyed seeing you as well. I'm shocked to find out that NOT all Eagles fans know each other. lmao

Here’s the original I took all those years ago. Billy is still wearing Croc’s and holding a cup lol

When you got a good thing going...you roll with it! lol. Great to see you and speak with you yesterday!! Thank you for taking that iconic photo of Tela & I, it's one of my favorites and always makes me smile when I show it to people.

What a great time. It was SO good to see some true friends that met on an internet fishing site. I still smh at that.

You get to see everyone, talk and laugh, go over how things are going with them and you. Funny how it's less about fishing now and more about checking in on how they are doing.

You walk in and see the faces and smiles. A great time.

If you get to talk with Carole and Tim you get to know how they feel about each and every member of this place. It is so heart warming.

I spoke with Carole yesterday we spoke Steve Panus that's Steve in Mass for everyone that didn't know or remember his actual name. We spoke of his passing and Carole started to cry. I felt terrible because I didn't want to upset her but it shows how much they care and think about the members here. It is a family, a little abstract and off center ..... but a family. Later I went over and showed her pictures and some video of SIM's wife Donna placing his ashes at an undisclosed location and she started again.

Nifty walking around in a pink bunny costume, I stopped  him and asked WTH is this. He explained to me in the short version "Ran would have liked it". Plain and simple. He thought enough of a friend and past member here to wear a pink bunny outfit because he would have liked it and found humor it. The that's what family does, remember each other and think of each other.

Thank you all for the fond memories yesterday, today and forever.

I was glad to see the tradition continued, even after a covid hiatus.  Good to see old faces, meet new ones, and reminisce about those who are no longer with us.  I realized I have a lot more years under my belt than I care to think about.  A bit difficult putting names to faces.

Nifty definitely made his presence known.

My wife asked if anyone ate the peppers she prepared for us.  I told her you guys almost ate the aluminum pan.

Some old and I do mean old faces. I do appreciate this event and everything that goes into planning it. I've been going for over 15 years now. I remember bringing my son when he was 5-6 and the turnout was huge. It's a little sad not seeing as many people attend as there used to be but I guess no Berkeley and Covid and losing some people is the cause for that. Even though Ive been attending for almost 2 decades I still feel a little like an outsider but I guess that's because I don't participate in the Tavern Forum. Anyway I had a great time, I won a lot of the things I wanted to win and its great to see everyone having fun again.

Billy it is always a pleasure seeing you! I will never forget your generosity in making a custom rod for one of our Christmas family kids. I know him personally and he treasures that rod. You are and have always been, all about the kids (like minds my friend) as shown when you won all that candy and gave it to the kids helping in the auction. Looking forward to seeing you again

PS that photo always makes me smile

You are 100% correct and Fishless and I were just talking about that tonight.

We've lost a ton of the old timers whether it be from death or they just don't have time anymore.  Or like you mentioned feeling like an outsider with not being a face in the tavern.

The other thing we lost is the plug builders.  I know we didn't have Berkeley this weekend which is why we always saw more plug builders but as a whole its been less and less each year.

I don't know how to fix that.  I know several members here would like to see it go back to the old days.  I just don't know how to get us back there.  I dont know if there is a single answer or many.

I kinda feel when we lost the fire hall and had to move to a different venue the Fling as a whole kinda shifted too.  It may have started with Sandy actually to be honest.

But you are 100% spot on.

Ah, we welcome all!! And the food fling has only been a tavern thing for a few years. Wait, maybe that's why we don't get as many people as in the past.

Thanks for all your generous donations. of which I won none. :th:

Really was great seeing friends you haven't seen in two years.

And we had a very deserving Derrick winning the Grandpa Old Spook Award.

You know it must be a penguin bound down if you hear that terrible screaming and there ain't no other birds around.
