Thanks

I just received your packet today.  I’m only going to say one thing.  I was like a kid on. Christmas morning.  Beautifully built bucktails.  BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship Hugh. I shall be ordering more.  These are the real deal and can’t wait to see how much they’ll catch.

Thank you Sir!!

The cottage after 70 years was destroyed by Izzy but not before I went through the tackle Peps left for my dad. Had those yellow uppermans. I was still learning knots and knocking the chit out of blues with them at the crab creek. After maybe 20 I was just casting lead with a little yellow. Chesapeake in the late 80s.

l and Darter1 had done a little talking on the sideline, so he helped me out with some hooks for my project a very nice gentleman and generous, hooks were sent as ordered along with the two size bucktails that he makes that l did not order, plus one blank used bucktail head that looks like it could be an old Upperman head? he will have to fill me in on the head.

l went back one page to look at pictures that Dart1 posted and the head he sent me is an Upperman head 0.70oz when finished it could be around 3/4oz, the one above the blank head is one l found in an old box of goodies, l redid the bucktail now it weights 0.80oz done over, it was yellow when found.

My wife side tracked me with this to do so my making my bucktail is on hold for a few days, l would also like to make a plaster mold of the Upperman head and even make a 1oz mold, thas all down the line, so before l was side tracked l did do my bucktail and finish a plug that l started years a go, l like two peace plug did a quick rattle can spray job, l make my own hangers and lips.

So for now this is all l have to show.

Plus two old plugs that are over 50 years old that were in the Box, These types of plugs were my everyday item in the late 50s into the 70s. along with the two Abu eel-lits when the sand eels were in,

Thanks for the good words..... I like your lures they look great!!!  That head is an Upperman that used the same hook that I sent you. I thought you could use it as a template. Good luck with your "To Do" list.

The hooked match up perfectly with that Upperman bucktail, taken a brake now, one item off that honey do list. lf the mold work works out l will send some heads if you want that size, the one you sent me was the size that l mostly used sometimes tipped with a red pork rind.

Nice Job LB.........I also love that 1/2 oz. Upperman Hugh sent you.  That particular Upperman in 1/2 oz. has a distinct "head" profile pointing slightly upwards........also has that eye hook closer to the front of the head.  Good stuff and Hugh is a good man for sure :th::th:
