On Monday I made reservations for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  There must be one day out of those three that I can surely hit the Gulf of Maine, right?

Yesterday got the phone call, Saturday is cancelled.

Today I foolishly looked at NOAA (thanks for turning me on to that everyone).

SAT - N Winds 35 to 45 kt, Seas 14 to 23 feet

SUN - NW Winds 15-25, becoming W 5 to 15.  Seas 5 to 8ft

MON - SE Winds 35 to 45 kt.  Seas 7 to 12, building 12 to 20ft

Well, it could be worse, they could be in meters...Weekend not looking good...

Scott, let me know the next time you bet on something so I can bet against it.

It goes without saying...I'm a life long *gulp* Bills fan as I grew up in Western NY.  Following this advice you could have retired quite early.

Scott, you're starting to remind me of a High School friend, "Rocco", who would accumulate a large amounts of individual bets with students for the World Series.  Only problem was he ALWAYS bet on the wrong team.  In 1969 we were all waiting with bated breath for his announcement.  We he said he was taking BALTIMORE, the Mets fans rejoiced, knowing the "Amazins" would triumph...

He bet AGAINST Tom Seaver?!?

Mets were HUGE underdogs, Baltimore was on top of their game back then.  We needed the Curse of Rocco to intervene on our behalf!!!

You do realize that we're starting to consider "The Curse of Charlton" as part of the bad weather lexicon...

Maybe call them and give them a day you don't want to fish.

Should be all set, weather-wise.

And, what's wrong with 14'-23'!

Just research "boats designed to right themselves".
