Very proud of my son. They grow up quick.  Hoping we get more time to fish again now that he's done with school.  Already talking about red drum this fall.

They all fight harder on light tackle. Gets the blood pumping. Funnily enough, despite using 20 pound braid, I only lost one fish out of the 20-or-so fish I caught over the course of a couple days. And it was a purposeful break off. I had gotten run into a rock that I tried to get the fish out of for 5 minutes but it wasn’t moving. So I called it a loss and broke off. I guess you don’t always need a big setup for togging off the jetties like people used to tell me. I’ll still keep the big rod around for the sheepshead when they arrive.

This was a miserable night in NC.  I even caught a drum.  But the tale is about Dennis.  He had his two little boys...fed them supper...played games or read a story, I forget which...put them to bed.  Then and only then did he fish.  No wonder his kids grew up to be fine young men!  And, in that miserable weather, he caught a drum.  Nice reward for a great dad.

I swapped out the big knob on mine for the flush dial from the normal fathom II but a small knob like that would be perfect.

Im not sure they hold more line then a 6500…..my line winder says 202 yds of 17 tritanium….shes full….a 6500 has a lil more lip showing then the fathom….and my high capacity 6500 spools will hold 235

yeah my high capacity abu (well akios) hold about 230 too...  either way, a decent cast for me and i have a half of spool left.   It seemed like it was about the same as a 6500.

In the fall, i use the 15s, normally.
