Made a mistake of throwing gibbs pencil to bluefish. It doesn't look pretty anymore. Switched to a heavy SS popper to preserve what's left.

It’ll eventually get waterlogged, but for now, it’s just good mojo.  This one was  basically new a few outings ago… belly hook and barbs removed for obvious reasons.

Fished the afternoon tide on the shoal. All shorts not very much action by anyone. My neighbor headed toward Brewster with the same result. Awesome day out there!  Boat is running well now.

Yup, everything loves a smack-it!  They’re great plugs for the money.

Never got to fish. Was shakedown run for boat and myself and found a problem with boat, so trip was short.

Yeah, nothing kills the fun of a boat ride like water lapping at your ankles and tentacles coming over the bow.

The amount of cod on the inshore rock piles, western portion of CCB and South Shore is pretty incredible right now. Lots of big ones too. They became a nuisance while failing to jig for mackerel. Knock on wood but they seem to be rebounding pretty well. The mackerel on the other hand...

Splashed the boat into CCB to start the lobster season found massive schools of bait fish but nothing on them, at the dock there were large stripers chasing what could be sand eels everywhere.

Went to a known south facing spot - it was shoulder to shoulder, zero fish being caught. Had to make sure it's Monday. I think I prefer complete darkness now.

I came to that conclusion myself about 30 years ago. :naughty:
