· #1 Posted December 12, 2021 Good afternoon! I'm considering getting another custom rod built for jetty and inlet fishing. I'm looking at the cts bay-caster 10 foot rated 3-5 and the 11 foot vapor trail rated 2-6.Do any of you guys have these blanks built? Please tell me about your experiences. 0 Go to top
· #2 Posted December 12, 2021 i have the vt 3-6 and the ratings are way off. it is more like 1-4. good luck 0 Go to top
· #3 Posted December 12, 2021 The vt's are definitely a bit off. The 1-3, that's 3/4-2oz. 2-4 is a solid 1-3. 3-6 is 1-4 or so, 4-8 is a 3-6 give or take. 0 Go to top

Oh I see, I have the 2-4 and after getting into some big bass off a jetty I realized it was a bit too light for jetty fishing. I guess building the 3-6 wont be worth it then. Got to go for a heavier rod. 0 Go to top
· #5 Posted December 12, 2021 (edited) I had a 3-6 vt. never liked it so got rid of it. For the cost, one coukd get a pair of used gsb rods, they are far better surf blanks in my opinion. Edited December 12, 2021 by puppet 0 Go to top

I have a 1201m SS best bucktail rod I have tried so far. To bad they are no longer made. It has the power to turn a head too. 0 Go to top

· #12 Posted December 13, 2021 I couldn't say. I don't own any of the new Lamiglas blanks. I'm kinda behind the times for being 37. Im currently building my first non Lamiglas rod and it's a older series century. 0 Go to top
· #13 Posted December 13, 2021 (edited) I have the 13' rated 4-8....and it handles 2-4 best. Be careful with factory ratings. Will throw a 2 oz sting silver out of sight. Edited December 13, 2021 by dcast 0 Go to top

Oh wow that's interesting. So there ratings are way off .You can turn a big bass in a rip with that rod no problem? 0 Go to top

At least near me. 0 Go to top
