Hoax? What’s the deal? All the articles i see don’t give much info other than there was a search and it’s been called off.

from what i've heard the pilot was flying up from the mid atlantic region to chatham. Last contact with the plane was about 3 1/2 miles off nauset. no distress signal. no mayday. just disappeared.

"The Air Force reported to the Coast Guard around 10:30 p.m. that there was a possible downed aircraft four miles east of Sampson Island. The FAA reported the aircraft missing around 10 p.m. Sunday night.

The plane’s last transmitted transponder signal was at 6:49 p.m., descending at 4,000 feet per minute."

Be nice if they gave the public the tail number. At least we can track the flight patch.

word is the plane was found yesterday in 60' of water by side scan sonar. haven't seen anything official but that's what i've heard..

They identified the pilot as Roger Mills 67 from Woburn Ma. that was flying his 1979 Piper Pa 28    Peace and Prayers

I've been told

Flew non stop from PA. to Chatham air port .Never called Chatham for landing.

Should have landed about 630pm and had to start over the water for a gps landing after dark.

Had a buddy waiting at airport, that's all.

  I think he ran out of gas and dropped

Harbormasters from three towns left shore about8-8.30pm.

Coast Guard flew over about 10ish.

Monday local boats,

C.G. ships, copters and large planes covered 2000sq miles

I would guess he landed in A1's bassen spot.

Anyway----prayers needed.

Neither the pilot nor his personal gear have been found yet despite multiple dives in the area.
