40” Red Drum Today

Caught this guy today. Figured I’d share. Was right at 40” on the dot. I should have cleaned him off first, but I wanted to get him back in the water ASAP. 
 

Also, if anyone is local to South Carolina, do you happen to know what the schools of fish are that are running down the shore constantly hitting the top of the water? They’re constantly breaking the surface, but I can’t see what they are from shore. (Not the mullet)

Nice. You could be seeing false albacore hitting on the surface, they feed really aggressively like that but I don’t know anything about when they’re around in SC. Throw some small metals/epoxy jigs at them next time they’re around and see what comes out of it.

Nice fish.  If you are where I think you are the Spanish Mack’s we’re hitting at dawn nearly every morning at dawn for the last week just north of there.  Most folks did well keeping a rod with sting silvers on and throwing at them as soon as we saw them.
