Japanese wood lure maker - Banderuola - absolutely killed for this spring - easily got 75 bass on this 7” wood trout bait.

Are these common?

Do you think if I started a WTB thread any would pop up?

Strike King used to make a thing called a pork—o in 5” and 7” size, I think they were discontinued 10 or 15 years ago. I used to slay smallmouths on the little one when I was a teenager. They looked alive in the water were very durable. Always thought a big 14” version would have been great in the surf.

M.S. Slammers are relatively easy to get.  IIRC 7” are about $70 new - they’re handmade by Mike Shaw so it takes some time to get them. There’s plenty of YouTube videos on M.S. Slammers - pretty much a straight wake bait - you can get it to crankdown a bit on a long cast with flourocarbon line.

‘’The Banderuola’s are handmade in Japan and pretty pricey - difficult to get.

Hey @bassmaster,

You could make something like this, with the small front part made out of wood and the tail long and sluggo like.

I'm sure it would just slay dem basses. You could go with lip or do more of a pencil style, with different sink rates.

OOoh I want one.......

The still is from an Engineered Angler vid., I'm sure you could do better!

I couldn't catch on in line spinners in salt water.  Not on Long Island and not in Florida.  I thought they would slay jacks and Reds, but they didn't.  I catch reds on spinnerbaits though.  Other than fluke never got anything up north.  I use bass jigs for Fluke and Snook in Alabama Craw, White and Green Pumpkin.  When the waters dirty I use Black.  They Catch.
