Stifftip sent me the video, and the full video is on FB.

Someone caught and released a 5' sturgeon. Canal sturgeon, who knew!

If anyone has the video, please share. I do not have a facebook account, fortunately

Facebook search turned up nothing, they must have spelled sturgeon wrong.

I saw the full video. It was pretty good, and the fish was released unharmed.

Happens in the Charles too but not as often Merrimack.

I saw some crazy stuff in the mouth of the Charles back in the late nineties.

I didn't know it then but I'm pretty sure some were Sturgeons.

The fish was huge. Easily 65lbs, I can't believe the guy landed it, esp given it was snagged.

I landed one in the Merrimack a few years back. On my way to fish for schoolies bought a Tica rated 1/2-2oz and a BG3500 w/15# PowerPro.
Took me about 20 mins to land. 4+ feet easily.
