Fly reel recommendations

Im planning on building myself a fly rod to target inshore critters and have zero knowledge of reels, line weight, flies/lures etc...  we mostly fish for schoolie bass/blues/weakfish. What weight set up (7-8-9?)  Whats a nice entry level reel ( $200 or less)? What line will i need?  What flies work well in salt in the spring/summer/fall?

Any help/info is appreciated.

for a tad more than your budget....Orvis Hydros around $280.  8wt with an intermediate line.  flys are sort of local so check with a local shop.

I wouldn’t go lighter than a 9 weight.  For a reel, a Scientific Anglers System 2 in size 89.  You might be able to find a nice used one for a reasonable price.  Second choice would be an Orvis Battenkill Disc 8/9.

My “go to” fly for stripers is a Lefty’s Deceiver size 2/0.  A lot of people will recommend Clousers.  I’m not personally a fan.
