Red rash/bumps on bass

I apologize if this has been brought up but I searched for it and haven’t seen anything recent. Anyway, has anyone been pulling up bass with a lot of red marks/rash? This guy was from NoMoCo and I haven’t had one covered like this before. Didn’t see sea lice and doesn’t look like mycobacteriosis. Both sides looked like this. The gills looked fine fwiw

Yuck.

I don’t know if they can live and spawn with that condition happening, but if they can maybe they’re better off. Could cut down on harvest.

I have never taken home a striper before but I certainly wouldn’t eat one looking like that.

A great podcast on this subject was just posted on that other popular striped bass online magazine....

Can you pm me a link? I can’t find anything. Thanks.

Caught a few bass in RI one evening about two or three weeks ago. All looked like that one. Wasn’t sure what it was either.

That looks more isolated to several identifiable spots. Seems like recently removed sea lice to me.

The OP’s pic looks more rash-like. But I know very little about mostly everything. ;-)
