how can we know the long term side effects of a vaccine for a novel virus that has only been around for, eh i'll be liberal, only 2 years.

Ummm…you can’t. That’s why they’re called long term side effects.

Given the way the mRNA vaccines work, I don't foresee any long term safety issues. It's not like a drug that you take daily for years on end.

They are 2/3 of the way through phase 3 testing/study for long term......then it will take a while for the regulatory bodies, doctors, and research labs to compile field data to produce white papers on the subject. (Publications)

Cardiac issues 

Lengthty hospitalizations

Any medication that treats a bad illness should be exempt from any repercussions if there are side effects.  After all, if having the illness is bad, then any medication that attempts to treat it is better.  No matter what the side effects could be.  Should be a lot of lawsuit money being returned to big pharma.
