Looking to match this reel with a 7'6" Zodias M for fluking primarily.  I am torn between the 25 and 30 and thought I'd reach-out to you guys for suggestions. I'm leaning towards the 30, but am very open to recommendations.  Thanks in advance!

I am a big fan of these reels for wet work like wading or kayak.

I own three from the first gen to,I don’t know second or third gen.????
I like them as much as my Stradics but they are much easier to service when dunked. And I own 5 Stradics.

I think the body on mine is the same for the 2500/3000.

When I bought mine you could get them on sale for 100$.

I fish them inshore in the SE,don’t know about NE.

For a quick service/flush all you have to do is pull one screw and the gears are exposed. Works for me.

I have three of the 1st Gen reels and I use them for fresh water bass fishing - two 30's and one 25.  I wouldn't go with the 25.  I would say aim for the 30 and you could possible go with the 40.  I am not fan of the 2nd gen reels.  Bought one and returned it, felt a lot of resistance while reeling in light lures.  The 1st gen reels are effortless to reel in.

I have 2nd gen and 1st all with the 5.2 gear ratio.

All equally smooth.

They made a high speed version and I would stay away from that!

i use a 25 size for fluking from the yak up to about 1.5oz bucktails. it gets saltwater splashed a lot and does need to be opened up and cleaned and regreased every year, or if i start to feel resistance when reeling.  but no rust or corrosion inside after a few years, so im not sure whats up with that.
