Very sad news...First met Fred in the early 70's when he worked as a waiter at Steak and Brew in Bayshore. We occasionally connected through the years. Condolences to his family. A TRUE GENTLEMAN X2

A great asset to the fishing community . He was a guy that you would want to fish with all day.  Condolences to his family .

I met Fred twice and he always treated me with respect. One time I ran into him at the beach. I was with my 8 year old son. He was super nice to us. We proceeded to slay 4 lb blue fish on our 9 and 10 foot rods while he put on a show snap jigging bass up to 15lbs with a 6 foot rod lol. Guy was the man. True gentlemen surfcaster. Said enough to help you out but not enough to blow the spot.

Never expected to read this, truly sad to hear. He will always be a legend in the Long Island Fishing Community. A true gentleman will be greatly missed.

Condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Fred
