Which one? 108 2MH 1-4oz? Reel? For a starting point I'd suggest KW30 KL20 KL12 KT8. Your 1st KT8 would be your choke point. The blank I have is a xra 108 4-2 1-4oz 50/50 9ft Reel is going to be a 2gen vr 151 I would like to use kw/alconote throughout.

You can do KW's top to bottom of course. I think I know what made you ask the question abouy the next size up being the choke ie the KW12 as the choke and then the KW8 runners? It will work just fine Edited September 18, 2021 by ZAFisher Mangomania and Treema

Treema
Also when testing the rod should I be fully wrapping the guides or would tape be okay? I watch Lou's video when he did the deflection test it had just tape?

Is it built up epoxy around the area or is it some kind of trim? I try not to use epoxy to fill in the gaps, I like the look of a smooth transition. This one I used EVA to trim the front because of the Paco grip. Nothing on the back side. Treema

Bigred78
Keep it simple. Mudhole has a lot of great videos. I'm still intermediate but what helped me a lot and what I continue to do is add in a new teqniuqe every rod I do. Marbling, Fade wraps, Inlays etc Treema
