scoobydoo
Enjoyed the day cruising around in the New 46 Valhalla Center console. Came across 7 Man o Wars Never saw them this far north. With a stiff breeze they'd wash up on my friends lawn down in ramrod key. Saw em by the thousands down there. First time seeing one here. Anyone else see em in numbers up here? daytripper 1 "Panacheless is no way to go through life" Tims

PSeggs
Wow. That's one thing I didn't know we had up here. Are they as bad as the stories? Or is it like the quicksand tales of my youth?

She still has red scars across her back and down one leg where the tentacles made contact. PSeggs and GarbageFish
Fergal
They're pretty common up this way late in the summer/early fall. Block had a ton of them last year. BrianBM
Must look up that brand. I still blink when I see center console boats with three or four engines on the rear, but .... they're no longer a novelty. And some are quite appealing. They're all best when garnished with some hot female body across the bow, conspicuously sunning themselves (in Montauk, the locals refer to the pretty young things draped on the megayachts as "the nieces.") hhager23
The loggerhead turtle feeds on the Portuguese man o' war, a common part of the loggerhead's diet. The turtle's skin is too thick for the sting to penetrate. The sea slug Glaucus atlanticus also feeds on the Portuguese man o' war, as does the violet snail Janthina janthina. The blanket octopus is immune to the venom of the Portuguese man o' war; young individuals carry broken man o' war tentacles, presumably for offensive and/or defensive purposes. The ocean sunfish's primary diet consists of jellyfish, but it can also consume Portuguese men o' war. riggler, richie c and PSeggs 3 "A land without memories is a people without liberty" - Robert E.
