VR75 only .10 ounces heavier I believe but holds 430 yards of 20lb braid instead of 360.  BUT I might want a 50 for more freshwater, as I love using the Van Stalls for my other rods that are not surf?

Keyword is high end.

Daiwa Tournament ISO Competition LBD

230 gram.  8-14 kg drag.  Lever braking spinning reel.

The LT Exist is a good close second.

Btw, VS isnt a high end reel. Lol.

Ill take the win for now. :beers:

If you take into consideration, complexity of drive system with the lever brake, ISO LBD has the same bronze gearing of a saltiga, and line snapping 30lb drag.

Light weight doesn't mean anything highend if it isnt insanely powerful. :beers:

My choice is basically a mini Saltiga that fits in your palm. About $1000 a pop.

That reel only has 8kg of drag w/o brake and will only hold ~150 yards of 20# braid.. :snr:

Vanquish has 11kg of drag and I can stop the spool with the palm of my hand, no brake needed… Why pay more for complexity? :why:

Current going rate on the Bay appears to be ~$770, yea, I’ll pass…

Dollar for dollar, ounce for ounce, Vanquish still wins…. LOL!!! :worms:
