Capt.Castafly
The fish blog was created as a communal gathering place to share, report weekly fishing activity. This will benefit those who greatly use this RI forum and ply our local waters. The premise is to gather all weekly reports into one common portal, thus making it easy to access, view and add your own fish reports. This is the fourth year for this type of approach. The years past have had great participation and much success. Post your success or skunks. Either way, black or white, zero to hero, let us all know if the bite is good or just not worth it getting off the couch. Fresh, factual information is one of the best sources of Intel with the ever changing fishing conditions we have today. Everyone is hype up about the coming hurricane. Lots of activity around the shore, with boat owners pulling boats, tightening down lines, making sure pumps work correctly. It should take a few days for all to settle down all this moving water. This should change conditions, maybe jump start the fall fishing. Nothing flies by me without a hook! If my fly is down, That's a good thing. Public Access.....It's a shore thing. My daily requirement of "Vitamin Sea". Capt. Ray Stachelek
mikez2
Second hand report from two of my boys. They went to SOCO in search of funny fish and saw none. They pretty much stayed all day. In the afternoon They finally did get into some blues. 20 inchers. Sounds like a tough day. They did say they saw lots of small bait. Hopefully Al will sweep in behind Henri. I’m still in search of a 40”+ bluefish. tons of bait… mikez2 and Gecko_13

Kooky
Surf was pretty big on the rocks when I left around 8. Pods of peanuts off shore at times, some schoolies, could smell the bait at times. back water, the water was getting murky. The amount of bait is insane, schoolies to 25” were chowing down. ^^ I didnt even notice it didnt get censored, I guess anal is acceptable in SOL.... Bwt570
There was so much bait stacked up out front in SOCO but nothing on it. The back water had plenty of bait also but had schoolies.
Peelin' Drag
Tried to go fishing yesterday evening at a rocky shoreline after the "big storm", as Bill Weitzel put it 'I've seen bigger water in my bathtub.' The road was blocked off by the local police who would not let us through. I get that they are trying to reduce emergency situations, but this was well after the storm had passed. Oh well, looking forward to the post storm bite in the next couple of days. Tight lines all

Those continue to sting even after they're dead and have started to fall apart. Even stepping on a small part of one can result in a serious sting. Dived on top of one about 30 years ago swimming and was entangled in the tentacles around my legs, around my right arm, and across my chest around to my back. EXTREMELY painful stings that lasted hours. Had my muscles trembling in pain. Never felt anything like it.
