Danny the pharmacist, one of my bass catching hero's is gone.

I'm eighty three and when I was a squirt Danny was one of the famous 14ft tin boat guys.

Danny the pharmacist, Nick, the barber, Bob the plumber, and ??? the mail man, Jim

the outboard guy and my brain stopped

   Rest in peace Danny.

Gone are the nights when a fleet of tin boats drifted with the tide in pleasant bay.

I would meet Bob after super, put the boat in, catch a few30-35lbers,grab a beer or two at the SIGN OF THE SURF, drop the fish off at Bishop's and  home in bed by the eleven o'clock news.

Kind a nice thinking of it now.

What I would’ve done to have experienced that fishery in its prime…

Sorry for your loss.

Me too. I started saltwater fishing at the absolute bottom for striper fishing. The blues outnumbered them 200 to 1.

Well then I shouldn't

tell ya about going with (the kids)65-7oish.

All in a boat, over the bar in the dark(no lights)

anchor the boat, get in a pram three guys,100eelsand hope we make it through the surf to shore.

No smoking, no lights.

one night,70thirty five lb fish=2500lbs @$2pound==$5,000 --one night

Now seals eat the fish.So much for Senators and Representatives.

Don't ask how many guys are dead.

What years had the most fish?

My parents moved to Harwich in 1975. I caught a lot of bluefish then off jetties but i can't recall anyone catching a Striper.

1976, I was having the time of my life fishing Pleasant Bay, day and night. Slamming fish. Come back into Ryder's one morning around 7am, only to find 6 flats! Four on the truck, two on the trailer. Plus, my winch rope gone.

Nice guys. :shaky:
