Yes, absolutely a cobia - I don't think they're regulated here in MA. But down south where they are more prevalent, that would be way short of the size limit. I've never tried them, but supposedly very good eating

Waters are so warm down south right now it’s not unusual for fish to travel to comfort waters .Cobia are really a fun fish to get the line tight , I’ve yanked many with arties & fly from the Gulf shores  Great catch .if it’s not regulated in Ma …  Hope you ate it .

Isn't Mass where they brag about killing all the big breeding female fluke. And the party boats fillet and release shorts for bait.

Might as well they destroyed the winter Flounder to Extinction Now Working on Tuna. -Cod & Swordfish.
