Casted small soft plastics and spooks in hopes for reds yesterday but didn’t even have a tap. Hoping for better action tonight.

My buddy got a 32" striper yesterday in VB.

12lbs, he said it swam off strong.

I got a brute of a black drum and a few more sheep.

Fishing has been so-so in the mid bay.  Mainly focusing on shallow water fishery in the early/late hours with the heat. Was a lot better earlier this month before the storms/rain late last week. Small blues have moved in. No Spanish north of poplar. They don’t seem to move up this year. Plenty of bait for them.

I'm still counting sheep, but lots of slot and over slot reds getting caught in the area.

If the sheep bite continues that's what I'll keep focusing on until striper season.

Fishing west bay this year finally.

Lots of lunch-sized blues, big spot, sandwich croaker, and a range of whiting yesterday.

Mackerel, bass and drum didn't show at all.

Hopefully the bigger blues move north soon, maybe in a few weeks when I can fish again.
