Nice catch! I was on the hunt from shore this morning, and while the water was looking prime for bones (jam-packed with schools of 3-4 inch silversides) they didn’t make a showing. Any day now…

They can’t be too far offshore since I see you’re in an aluminum skiff

best way to catch them. much more stealthy than a larger boat and much faster and mobile than a kayak.

Back in the 90’s we mostly saw small boats out chasing hardtails. A lot of aluminum boats also. We called them the tin fleet.

Hope to get bones and albies this year from

shore

Extremely tough but so rewarding. Fish for hours just to have a handful of chances to hook up, running up and down the shore like a madman. Nothing like watching them blitz far out in the bay waiting for them to come close. When it all lines up and you get that perfect cast over a school...wow there is nothing like that anticipation.

36’ cc.Triple 300s. To catch 5 lb inedible fish.  I’ve kayaked next to that

This is also the guy who will steam directly into a blitzing pod or hop right into your drift when your a cast and a half out......every Fin' time.

Shore. "There they are". ZZZZ,ZZZ,ZZZ,ZZZ,ZZZ,ZZZZ. Everyone around casts from all over the place including people running up behind you and casting over you. I need a secret spot.

What should I look for in a spot from shore that will hold bones, albies.

Sorry to tell you, par for the course if you're at the regular jetty spots.

Weekend and holidays almost not worth it.

As far as jetties, rock piles inlets etc, there are no secret spots.

My best luck finding shore funnies away from the crowd has been walking the beaches near the crowded jetties.

You'd be surprised how often they run the beach.
