Hitting MV Wed.-Sat. Hope to intercept bones. They were just starting to get close this time last year. This year's reports seem to be a bit early... so?

I dunno about a Mass Pin, but the IGFA all tackle record is 4 lbs 8 oz. I caught some big ones earlier in the year but nothing that big !

C'mon man. Only the rookies fish down the edge. Just stand on the road and throw out right over the plebe's heads. No tossing of the catch involved, just unhook and drop 'em, right at your feet.

Did not see any signs of them for the limited fishing time I had. Put an afternoon in at Menemsha and another in Vineyard Haven with no sightings or fish. I could see boats out searching and never stopping.  Good luck, could happen at any time.

I’ve been poking around the Vineyard in search of bonito the last week or so - no luck yet in the usual spots, but the striped bass & bluefish bite has been on. There is also a good run of mackerel right now, so figure it will be any day now…

I searched around the Elizabeth's on Sunday AM.  Found a small pod of some kind of bait getting chased.  60ft of water and less than 1 mile from shore.  Not sure what the bait was, looked like tiny mackerel porposing across the surface to escape whatever was chasing them.  The bait was 4" to 6", and torpedo shaped.  Whatever it was it did not react to my epoxy jig or swimmer that I ran by the commotion.

Normally found further offshore, but with the warmer waters, possibly Halfbeaks? 

Saw some closer to B.I. than usual recently.

Sounds almost like Atlantic sauri.

Heading to southern Ri this Saturday for triggers, bones,  chub macks and hopefully more weird/ new species

I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen Spanish mackerel jumping on two separate occasions in the last 5 days.

I've heard triggers have been caught. 

It's still early for the crazy weird stuff. I've seen some tiny jacks caught in a dipnet. In September they will be snapper blue size.

Even early for bones, although could be any day.
