I was cleaning out a storage unit and came across a Thomas and Thomas hs907s. All I could find was the brand is good but nothing on that specific rod. It is still in perfect condition with the plastic still on the handle. Just wondering if I should keep it or is it worth something to someone who would appreciate it more? I also found a pflueger 1495 medalist reel in perfect condition from the 1950’s to 1960’s not sure exact year.

I guess the question I would ask you (or you're asking yourself this) ... Do you fly fish? Do you want to fly fish (learn)? If NO ... then yeah of course the items you've pictured will have some value for some one .... some one in particular that is "old school".  As the T&T rod is vintage gear as is the Medalist fly reel. At a minimum the gear is mid-1990s stuff (my guess).

Put the stuff up for auction and find out who would want it ... or take up fly fishing. The 7wt is a great rod for Schooligans.

T&T Horizons were great rods for their time... I had an 8wt for a while, but sold it because I was worried about breaking it. The guy who bought it off did in fact break it on  a clouser hit about 6 weeks after I get bought it.  Tough to compare older rods due to newer technology.

One thing I will say is that T&T rods superbly finished.

I have an 8wt horizon.  It is heavier and has a more moderate action than the current top of the line stuff.  Nice rod but not as nice as a lot of rods now available. Plenty of guys still love ‘em, however.   My guess is you could get $250 ( or maybe a bit more) for it pretty easily.

I personally Love the Old Horizon Series Rods... I actually have this exact rod that I just broke on a trip up in Maine! Agreed that they are not new technology blanks now but still a great rod! I just wish it was a 4 Piece *

I had a 9wt horizon, great rod. I wish I still had it.

older rods vs the new stuff, I’m not sure the new stuff is any better. Old and new seem to cast the same in my hands.

I have a 9/10 Horizon I won back in the mid 90's. (94-95, good guess Kironafly). Same markings all around. At that time the 9/10 went for around $525.00 and was their top of the line. Unused I think that rod has some value for sure. Great score whatever you're going to do with it.

Certainly the materials are a bit different with the advent of nano technology & resins, etc. Making rods lighter & stronger. But I have some G Loomis IMX graphite two piece rods that are somewhat irreplaceable. As well as the T&T Horizon & Vector rods in 8 & 9wts. Rod taper & components all come together in making that perfect casting fly rod (not to mention the caster).

I have one. T & Ts are great rods. Very fast action, and works great with heavier flys and a double haul IF you get enough line out to load the rod.
