Anyone ever made one before ?

Want to do something along these lines, and need a bit of antler that would be about 1" thick at the bottom of the "Y"

I'll take pictures and post up the progress reports.

Take a walk in the woods or keep a hacksaw in the car for those roadside moments

I use the green garden stakes.  3/8 maybe?  I dont recall.  Not the thick ones.

Keep a short set and a long set.  Usethem a bit for still hunting field edges, where trees and branches werent plentiful.

FWIW, go to the range and challenge yourself to shoot freehand and then with shooting sticks.  Its eye opening for every hunter I have challenged to do this.

I've got a bunch of Y buck antlers in the shed.  I'll see what I have. I will be on/ near LBI the week of 7/30-8/6.

What I do is use a pair of hiking poles, It gives you a bipod rather than a monopod. I put them together with a flexible "gear ties" that I get from Lowes. Both legs are quickly  adjustable for length. Unwrap them and you have a pair of hiking poles, useful for us old guys.

Bipod sticks work well for, me but the monopods don’t - I can do much better with a sling around the arm for a standing shot.  I think that will make for a cool shooting stick though.  OH
