The 4 HS is also black-gold and they indicate bad spec.(maybe braid capacity as lll....or retrieve).

They are suppose to hit around late October/November according to Steve rep @ Penn booth @ ICAST.

*  Slammer IV:

*  Added a 2500 model to the series with H100 drag.  All other Dura-Drag

*  Redesigned the rotor decreased weight/mass for easier start up

*  Added a spool bearing now 8+1 total

*  Added a seal under the rotor yet still IPX 6 rating

*  Added more High Speed models 2500, 4500, 6500, 8500

*  Bail-less 5500 model

There is also a Dealer Exclusive model line that has even more upgrades. Only available thru independent dealers no big box stores or amazon.etc

*  SLAMMER lV DX:

*  All Slammer IV upgrades + :

**  Sliver in color.

**  Extra bearing 9+1

**  CNC Stainless Steel Main and Pinion gear set.

**  Models 2500-8500 no high speed or bail-less

**  roughly $30 price increase over standard Slammer IV

This is interesting. I get the feeling it may not be available in Australia.

Does not seem to be on the Penn USA site, yet. Check Penn AU for details.

This could be a nice schoolie reel but I think I’d want the 4500 size for light surf duty, just for line capacity purposes. I usually fish 30lb braid in the surf.

2500 makes a nice kayak reel especially sealed, but what’s the weight? Slammers are heavy

You need to get to a gym then.
