Was out cleaning the boat and when I twisted the inspection hatch lid I noticed the gasket is broken, and it was really hard to twist open. Going to replace the gaskets but was wondering if anybody has a suggestion of a lubricant that would keep the gaskets from drying out. Thanks

Thanks I gave them a look after I posted and found new one's for about $20.00. Might be easier to just replace than find a gasket for a 17 yr. old boat. Thanks again.

Be careful when you replace screws in the deck can be problem areas for water intrusion if your deck is cored with wood

good old petroleum jelly aka vaseline, on the gaskets.

Any liquid Silicone lubricant. Sold in Homies near the WD40. I like the 3-in-1 in a yellow squeeze bottle.
