Anyone have any experience with Total Boat one part poly paint, from Jamestown Distributors?

Their propaganda and videos sound pretty easy.

I have used it on a few topside projects. Flows well. Not as durable as two parts, but easy to touch up. It will fade(as will other single part paints)in the sun. I repaint about every 2 years. I will use it again.

Just used it today for the first time on a dock box lid

As with any painting project its all in the prep work

2 coats of Topside Primer - sand with 150 between coats and first coat of Fightin Lady Yellow Wet Edge paint

Topside Primer dries in 2 hours

Needs 12 - 16 hours to dry for the  Wet Edge per coat - will need 2 -3 coats

2 part would be a harder  and superior finish but not needed for dock box

I just used it on this whaler.  Looked amazing when it was new.  Couple chips after a month of use, I have to be more careful, used to gelcoat.  It needs to be thinned pretty good and several coats.  That may be typical, it was my first time painting a boat.

Would Petit Easypoxy get the nod over the wet edge paint for a Gheenoe project I am starting. Of course I want it to look good - but I'm sliding it in and out of my truck bed so It has to be durable.

Single part / enamel paint will never be as durable as gel coat or Awlgrip.

However, much more user friendly on all fronts.
