You are delusional if you think an E-bike is going to get you there and back without walking.

I have a 250cc dirt bike that wouldn't make that ride, let alone some electric motor (especially the cute little one's that fold up in your trunk ).

Waste of $$$

Plenty of e bikes can make it there and back you just will have to shell out some bucks. You must be one fat bastard if you couldnt make it on a 250…. I could ride from demo to smiths point on a 250 and have plenty of gas left over

WE 2 should be made into a drive on beach..At least up until Memorial Day..then after Labor Day. Why is it so complicated for it to be done?

Aren’t enough beaches ruined by ****s driving on them?

WE2 is already an idiot magnet, to begin with. Can't imagine the clown fiesta that would happen if they opened up 4WD access there. You'd have constant blockages with guys who don't air down and guys who think it's ok to drive their minivans onto the beach with their 8 kids stuffed into the trunk.

Exactly Shinnecock east is like cinco de Mayo every weekend.

Spot is already a **** show, I couldn’t even imagine what it’d be like without the mile walk. Not to mention that the 4x4 permit, even if supposed to be for fisherman and surfers only, attracts a **** ton of people who just use the beach to party and throw trash everywhere…no thanks.

Let’s be real, drive on beaches are terrible for our coastlines. The responsible drivers cause minimal to no damage, but there are more than a few jerks out there who feel the need to drive on dunes, create giant holes over the beach, run over marine life, etc. It (kinda) works in the less densely populated areas out east, but it could never realistically work somewhere like Jones Beach. It barely works at Demo, mostly due to the amount of people not even fishing.

Not just the Mariachi band , a lot of brain dead yahoos from up the Island too. They occasionally ignore the Village permit required sign on the east end of the beach , ending up ticketed and ejected. Lifted jeeps with light bars and rap music driving way too fast on a family friendly beach don’t get the welcome mat put out for them. Police on speed dial :ginzo:

I used to love fishing that place, the inlet and the jetty. Now it’s a total effing joke . Guys walking the jetty with no korkers, yet have a personal speaker attached to themselves blasting ethnic music!? Sad what this island has become.

April 15- Memorial Day...Then Labor Day - December 15..thats reasonable for that area. Wouldn't effect it it any way..Remember its SAND. Seems like the people out East get the drive on beach...but the West living guys get screwed

I see some Suffolk spots/parks with nice access make it specifically for Suffolk residents only, oyster bay this year changed beach access to their residents only and so on. Not much going on for Nassau in terms of beach access designated for residents only that's worth it.

Barely see any law enforcement as is, if area gets flooded with unintended use and no one to stop it.. may get even worse.

Was in the area yesterday, people swimming and having small parties. Few weeks before that, looked like a tent city with large crowd, didn't even want to walk past.

I agree with opening some places up so more can enjoy.  We should be more like Florida when it comes to fishing access and not NJ.

What we pay for those permits should actually be used to enforce the rules and not allow any idiots to ruin it for the majority of us that don't abuse it.

Would absolutely affect  it. Nassau is much more densely populated than Suffolk. Take away that walk and it’d be a zoo in November, it already is on nice days. It’s one of the few nicer beaches (barely that anymore) west of Moriches, being able to drive on would destroy any semblance of nature it had left.
