A Tennessee boat dealer is sending anglers on an unusual treasure hunt for a specific tagged fish that will earn the person who catches it a $100,000 prize.

Watson's Marine in Bluff City said a smallmouth bass fitted with a tag will be released into South Holston Lake at 12:01 a.m. June 12, and anglers will have until 11:59 p.m. June 13 to catch the fish.

The person who reels in the bass, nicknamed "Ol' Walter 2.0" by the boat dealer, will receive a $100,000 prize, the business said.

The dealership said no registration is necessary and any baits can be used, but the fish must be caught with a rod and reel to qualify for the prize.

Here's the fish.

Yeah, that's a guaranteed win for that dealer.

Release a fish, probably in n area away from it's normal haunts on day 1, and expect that fish to be ready to feed (if it has been fed before release) like it had been there for days/weeks.

You would have to be the luckiest person in the world (or at least have some inside intel) to even be in a position to have a chance.

I see this as nothing more than a publicity stunt where the fish won't be caught for days/weeks and maybe not at all.

As long as the fish is released in good condition and in a "general area", it could be interesting.

If you're so confident, why not pony up a matching amount and then go catch it. It's that easy, right?

Damn right it is, you little sissy boy.
