So I lost the only credit card I own when I was in Florida. Canceled it right away and have my new one. I've had that card since the late 90s and never lost it. Now I realize I may need another card in case one gets lost. I have a Bank of America Mastercard now. What card offers the best perks?

The better question is which card offers the best fraud protection

Perks are secondary and really depends on what you're looking to get out of it

There's a Chase cashback card that give 5% on travel purchases. That could add up. I buy a lot of appliances, so I like the Costco cashback card that doubles the warranty in addition to gas perks and regular cashback.

Capital One quicksilver is my go to. Very good fraud protection too.

Funny I just got a flyer in the mail for Quicksilver

Is there really much difference in protection between major banks? I guess I've mostly had Citi, Chase and Cap1.

Depends on your purchasing habits. Nerd Wallet will show you the best card for you.

The first reply nailed it.

Also interested in this.  I thought CC fraud protections were largely the same and mandated by the fair credit billing act.

I suppose some offer virtual card numbers...

Pay off purchases immediately = pick the best reward cards that fits your need.  Emphasized on paying off immediately.

As for carry a balance on low rate card, don't carry a balance.

They are, but customer service response varies.
