WTB 11 ft 3/4-3 oz. or similar for lighter lures

Recommended Posts

Might have something for you. I had a spinning rod built from Chris Aubut of Aubut custom rods. It’s an 11’6” spinning rod, two piece spinning. I had it built for strictly plugging the canal. All black alconite k guides, black wraps and black grips. Reel seat is 28” to the center from the butt. X flock grips on the butt section and foregrip. I think it would fit your needs perfectly. Rod is in perfect condition, no scratches, dings or nicks at all. I can send photos of via text if your interested, let me know Matt.

I have a custom 11' CTS S8 used about 5 times in mint condition wrapped by RH Customs Rods. Two-piece 50/50 split, 1-3 oz. rating that "Bombs" lures out there......this rod can also toss 1/2 oz. bucktails with no problem.....

Thanks . What blank is it and rod rated 3/4 or 1oz- 3?
I thought canal rods were usually heavier 2 or 3+ on the low end.

It’s a Florida angler blank. Made by Steve Austin who made the AFAW years back. It’s not a beefy blank. It would throw 1 oz to 3oz no problem. 3/4 oz it would throw but it would depend on the reel and line combo your using. It’s a beautiful rod  though.

Interested in the S8. How’d you like it? I understand it’s a pretty stiff, fast action rod. Would you ship to Long Island and if so, how much?

any pics of wraps, grip, etc.?

No Bait. No Barbs. No Buckets.

Very fast action.....but i found that it could do alot more than previously thought.  Again, although not optimal, i was able to work 1/2 oz. bucktails and metals just fine.  I paid over $500 for the rod and am willing to let it go for $425 shipping and handling included.  This rod is basically new only used 4, 5 times at the most.

I can get some pics to you in the next day ........ i'm currently away but should be back home tonight............

Here are some pics of my custom 11’ CTS S8.  Hope pics are ok as my phone needs to be updated.  Rod has a handle length of 24” from butt to middle of reelseat.  Let me know if you have any additional questions.
