Well, at least when the rapture comes, we who believe in Christ will floating off to the heavenly gates, meanwhile the democrats/baby killers will be burning in hell. At least we've got that going for us right now. That's a plus.

That's not exactly how the rapture works IIRC.

You have the rapture followed by 7 years of tribulations on earth - anti-Christ and whatnot.  After 7 years, Christ returns to earth and vanquishes the anti-Christ, the raptured get bounced back to earth in ageless bodies for the 1000 years of Christ reigning as one world leader (globalist new world order in the biggest possible sense).

During this time, you have the "something more than human" raptured returnees, living side by side with your garden variety human.  Then after that 1,000 years, there is the final judgement...some go to heaven, some go to hell, earth gets tossed like a used paper towel.

Of course, in evangelical Christian theology, I think it is commonly accepted that if you "die in sin", you go straight to hell.  No returning to earth for 1,000 years.  No Catholic purgatory thing involved.

Interesting bit of historical perspective.

In 1775, the U.S. Congress first called for the national recognition of prayer, but it was not recognized as a formal celebration on the first Thursday of May until 1952. Following its inception, every president since 1952 has signed a National Day of Prayer proclamation.

I challenge you to post any credible news source reporting this.

I can't find it.

To the extent it's true...there's nothing to "get."

You put this **** out there making the implication Joe is against prayer or the church or something, and that's bull****.

Again, to the extent it's true, I'm sure it has to do with Capitol security and Covid restrictions, not stopping Pray Day activities per se.

Democrats are more than happy to see religion gone from the Capitol unless they can use it to bludgeon a Republican with violating a tenet.

Honestly, a show of religion probably doesn't belong on the Capitol steps.  I don't really want to see some Imam and a bunch of his followers bowing to Mecca on Federal property.  Pray at home, pray at church, etc.

Additional historical perspective:

The Society for the Relief of Free Negroes Unlawfully Held in Bondage, the first American society dedicated to the cause of abolition, is founded in Philadelphia on April 14, 1775.

President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Provisions of this civil rights act forbade discrimination on the basis of sex, as well as, race in hiring, promoting, and firing.

On January 20, 2021 Joe Biden emerges from his basement and gets sworn in.  Still hasn't publicly sniffed a black person.

In May of the same year, we have a thread on the local fishing forum about starting a segregated city.
