So the state is now sponsoring overpaid minimum wage jobs?

You don’t pay people a bonus to go back to work.  You cut them off for not working and let starvation motivate them.  This policy ain’t that great.

Being unemployed for a spell, no.

Bouncing back, and finding gainful employment,  about 50 50, depending on want to.

Do you have any evidence that 50% of applicants to unemployment never return to the workforce? So far all the anecdotal tales in this thread have been that people eventually returned to work.

Exactly. “Hunger is a great sauce” a wise Irish man once told me.

Depends on your income. The MA Max was about $800/week. Plus $25 per kid if IRC.

No state income  tax on that, but Federally taxed as I recall.

If you are well  north of that, you do want to find a job.

If you are borderline, plus the $300, why go to work? Fishing is just getting good.

I'd rather see the exact opposite.

Go 4 months without a job, and they expel you from the state.

So completely unsubstantiated as usual.

If you're realistic about the current climate, you know that's never going to happen. But you sound tough though.

Tell me which of them backs up the claim that the 50% of people that claim unemployment never return to the workforce?

Also, if you were getting severance pay, why did you need government money from unemployment? You're no better than anyone else getting every benefit available to them.

The claim was that 50 percent of people never return to the workforce, your post doesn't address that so it doesn't matter if it's true or false. Hope you enjoyed your funemployment on my dime.

So you lied when you quoted me. Typical Lib.

Unemployment on your dime?  How do YOU pay for it?
