Montana to pull out of fed sponsored unemployment

Instead, to get people off the couch, they'll offer a $1200 payment to employees after they complete 4 weeks of work. Hopefully other red states follow suit and get people back to work while businesses continue to die in blue states.

Work a month, collect 1200, go on a bender, get fired...rinse repeat.

It's a 1 time payment.

So the state is now sponsoring overpaid minimum wage jobs?

No. They're getting people back to work by offering a one time bonus.

Can't hurt to try.....a social experiment....expect a backlash from the folks who are sucking on the never ending government money t I t blessed by the socialist dems....you never heard anything from the northern states ....many of those states have turned into c h I t houses due to de m control....good for Montana to get folks to work...

It's being reported in Philly that bars and restaurants can't get staff because people are making more on unemployment.

How about the state says your unemployment benefits have expired..... go back to work.

Probably tough pulling the rug out without a transition back to normalcy. Seems like a decent idea.

It's everywhere. A Marriot in RI has 100 open positions.

I applaud the idea and effort, maybe in Montana it will work. Locally I can say that Uline is one of the top employers, good pay, good benefits, good company all around. They stopped in person pick ups due to lack of staff. The used to pay around $18/hr starting to work in the warehouse. They are offering $23/hr starting and a $5000 sign on bonus and are still understaffed. Experience required is minimal. Unemployment is too lucrative right now.

Was talking to a friend in Jersey a couple days ago. There was a casino job fair, with 750 open positions, and either 5 or 50 people showed up.
