Hello. Has anyone tried the new Triumph Inshore rods by St.Croix? Ive been thinking about buying one to use for when I’m fishing in rivers or bays. If you have used it, what has been your experience? Also, which model(s) did you use.

I had both the new Triumph IS as well as the new gen Mojo IS in my hand at "a big sporting goods store".  Both felt beautiful, both 7MHF.  I ended up getting the Mojo because I liked the guides, hook keeper, handle and SCIII better.  But for $30 less, that Triumph felt crazy nice!  And I actually like the color of the Triumph better. Very unique.

Thanks for your input! To tell you the truth, I thought the Triumph Inshore was just a black rod. I’m color blind lol. I dig the aqua color of the Mojo Inshore though!

The old Triumphs were black, new inshore is a unique shade of green.  Pretty cool.  The new Triumph FW rods also changed to a very dark blue, which also looks pretty sharp.

A friend picked up the 76MHF Triumph inshore and loves it.  Paired with a Penn BTL 5000.  Felt nice although to me the 5000 size is a bit overkill.

I have a BG 4000 on my 9’ mojo surf. It’s pretty balanced. So naturally I would probably go with a BG 3000 or BTLIII3000 if I decide to get the Triumph.

I have a 4000 Stradic FL on mine and it seems to balance well

Yeah the Stratic Fl 4000 is a pretty light reel. From the info on their website it appears to be 9.9 oz. Thats less than the Diawa BG 3000 (at 10.8 oz)

I have the 7' MH Triumph paired with a 4000 Vanford for use here in SWFL. Feels good and light, especially with the Vanford. Have caught several species of fish with it. Bought both at a local Ace Hardware.

Ive seen some reviews that said the MH Triumph Inshore is a little stiff. Is that something you have noticed? How has that rod worked for you so far.
