Is it me? or is everyone else getting skunked?

I can't remember when the fall fishing has been worse I have been fishing for 25 years and the summer basically sucked with many flounder early then nothing. The weakfish run just materialized then it was gone in a couple of days. What should I expect from the fall striper run? I read Gene post of over 40 commercial boats in a 12 mile radius that hurts. Just want to see if everyone else is getting skunked.

Today was particularly disturbing. East wind, dropping tide, and no fish in a spot that's almost a lock under those conditions. And where I fish, you can't blame it on beach replenishment.

I've had consistent action all summer and fall because I gave up on NJ. I've been fishing the western LI Sound via kayak. Been hitting the big blues lately as they've been both available, cooperative and they;ve been great for introducing peopel to yak fishing. I'll be concentrating on the bass soon.
