Doesn't look like anybody else already started this, so I'll go.

Got out with my boys to a central Ma pond. Had been recently stocked but crowd was very light for a Saturday after stocking.

We fished the back side and had the whole place to ourselves. We did very well on holdovers including several browns. No really big ones but nice healthy hard fighting fish.

One of my boys walked around to the front and picked up a couple of the recent stockers. I bet you can tell the difference in the pics.

All ours were released and my son said none of the truck followers at the boat ramp were catching.

The lure-is it a Colorado spoon in the first picture?

Sorry for the confusion-just asking about the gold spoon in the 1st picture.

I’ve been cooking them on the grill. Filleted and deboned some olive oil, slap your mama seasoning and lemon juice. They have been delicious that way. I love smoking them too, Bob’s look fantastic.

Oh sorry, duh. I was definitely confused. :)

I don't know what spoon it was, it was my son's. He's 14 but has more fishing tackle and is more knowledgeable about products than I ever was.

He did say the trout wanted the lure on the drop.

Been a very productive spring thus far. Bite has been downright silly recently, cant keep a bait in the water longer than 30 seconds. With that being said, been catching most of mine on artificial simply cuz it puts less strain on the fish for release. Like mentioned above, most fish have wanted the spoon (Rough Rider for me) on the drop

Hit an E. Mass pond last Sunday with the boys. Brendan got 2 on lures, I got 3 Colin -0- lol. Nice chunky bows.

Yes I slept in on saturday but hit a C mass pond later then I wanted. Shut out.  My own fault. Once the sun is over the trees this pond shuts down.

Nice brookies.

You think the brown was a holdover?

I wish they'd stock more browns. They really seem to holdover the best.

Maybe? Tough to tell. They had stocked that pond with browns about a week and a half prior. Most of the fresh stocked browns I had been getting were smaller variety. I struggle to tell hold over vs stockie unless they have major fin damage from rubbing the tanks
