They pinched it off and found a body between the north end Bridge and memorial bridge. Don't know yet if it's the missing kid.  Smallmouth and pike have been chewing tho.

Hit the Merrimack 5 days ago, definitely has herring piling up towards the dam.

I spotted a few herring jumping in the whitewaters and occasionally near the bank; the cormorants got the word too. OTW spoke of shad spotted in the North shore rivers, but I'll have to go down there this weekend as an early bird. I just never heard of shad arriving this early at all and I am a bit skeptical overall.
Digressing a bit, the water level in the Mack is fishable as of now, but I do not want it decreasing any further.

I haven't fished the 'Mack shad run in a while, but when I did I remember them trickling in at about this time in April. This is upriver in mass of course, without being too specific. Personally, I'd give it another week for more to fill in before giving it a try, but that's mainly because I'm not local to that area.

That estimate is absolutely correct. There should be enough shad to be fishable by the end of Spring Break, assuming that the Shad, albeit in small numbers, have already arrived.

Nice! Hopefully 2021 will be a peak year. I will wait for a week or so to fish along the Merrimack River.

I’ve never fished the Connecticut river.  Using google maps I’ve picked out a couple spots that I might try but having no knowledge of the area , I don’t want to drive into a meth lab or anything.  Anyone that knows the area willing to provide some feedback on the spots I’m looking at?  Shoot me a private message so I’m not blowing up anyone’s spots.
